Rev offers a deep dive into prototyping through its summer-long Prototyping Hardware Accelerator program that leads physical product teams through a process for determining if their ideas are commercially desirable, technologically feasible, and economically viable. Upon completion of our program, participants are positioned to recruit team members, bring on partners, initiate work with contract manufacturers, and pitch to investors.
The Rev Summer Prototyping Hardware Accelerator is open to anyone with an idea for a physical product and a passion for entrepreneurship. The program is free and open to the public, and teams do not need to have a legally-formed LLC to participate. The classic track supports product ideas across all industries, and the AgTech and CleanTech tracks offer startups the chance to work with a like-minded cohort and learn from industry experts. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis during the annual application cycle.
This is an in-person program located in Ithaca, New York.
Applications open January 6th.
Open to all innovators in any field since 2014, Rev’s classic track provides foundational training across industries.
Climate tech startups are placed in a like-minded cohort, matched with clean energy and clean tech mentors, and learn from guest speakers in the field.
Agriculture technology startups are immersed in specialized training and connected to experts and potential partners within the agriculture industry.
Medical device startups receive specialized mentorship and networking opportunities with experts and potential partners in the field.
Teams are led through a process for determining if their ideas are commercially desirable, technologically viable, and economically feasible.
Our innovative philosophy and methodology is suitable for all types of hardware offerings. In addition to our summer program, Rev hosts a series of speakers and workshops to grow your network of thought leaders, industry experts, and successful startups. We also have a start-of-the-art purpose-built prototyping lab that is open to participants and Rev member companies.
In the Prototyping Hardware Accelerator, we help innovators move from a “back of the napkin” idea to launching their startup. We support them in every facet of creating:
Teams explore their options for building their product while simultaneously engaging in customer discovery to learn more about their customer’s problems/needs.
Teams focus on creating looks-like and works-like prototypes to further refine their concepts and garner customer feedback.
Teams integrate all their learning to create an integrated, functional prototype suitable to gather more customer feedback and investor interest. Teams also receive pitch training and prepare for Demo Day.
Demo Day is the culmination of our accelerators – teams share what they’ve been working on with the community. The event is both an exhibit and a pitch marathon, teams craft a clear and concise pitch that demonstrates their customers’ needs, their business plan, their passion for their startup, and their technical creativity.
