On Thursday, August 9th from 6-8 p.m., Rev: Ithaca Startup Works hosted its fourth annual Hardware Accelerator Demo Day where eight teams pitched and presented the prototypes they developed over the course of the 11-week summer program. During the program, teams diligently worked to move their product idea from concept to prototype, while learning about the market for their product and improving their business plans.
Rev: Ithaca Startup Works was filled to capacity with entrepreneurs, business mentors, partners, and community members eager to see what inventions and technologies the Hardware Accelerator teams had worked on all summer.
Rev’s Hardware Accelerator teams showcased their products for attendees and discussed ideas and opportunities for future growth.
Ken Rother, director of the Hardware Accelerator, kicked off the night with a warm welcome and words of praise for all of the amazing ideas these teams have brought to the table this year.
“Rev’s Hardware Accelerator is a unique and very powerful program that empowers individuals with mentorship, a purpose build workshop, supplies, best practices, and connections to take their ideas and create customer focused prototypes,” said Rother. “The program helps inventors become entrepreneurs and entrepreneurs become inventors.”
Keynote speakers Julianne Clouthier, Industry Engagement Manager of FuzeHub and Erica Iannotti, Growth Strategist and Tech to Market Advisor from NYSERDA, presented resources for new businesses to continue to grow after the Hardware Accelerator.
