GiveGab Hosts 4th Annual Giving is Gorges Fundraiser
Giving is Gorges is a day celebrating non-profit organizations in Tompkins County. Community members give back, financially, to the organizations that support causes central to the needs of our neighbors. The day aims to create engagement, excitement, and build support around the non-profits providing a direct impact on people in our community.
The yearly event began in 2015 when Rev Ithaca Startup Works member company GiveGab huddled with several other local organizations to plan a day dedicated to the spirit of philanthropy. GiveGab is a nonprofit giving platform that connects people to local nonprofits, helping to engage donors, raise money, and manage volunteers quickly and efficiently.
“Giving is Gorges is such a special Giving Day event for the GiveGab team not only because it was our very first of many Giving Days to follow, but because it celebrates the nonprofits in our own backyard and the community we live in and love,” said Bridget Cafaro, Customer Success Manager and Leader for Giving is Gorges.
Since 2015, Giving is Gorges has raised over $225,000 for local businesses, and with featured non-profits like The Learning Web, Meals on Wheels, and Family Reading Partnership, there is a wide variety of impactful organizations that people can choose to support.
Giving is Gorges 2018 will be held on June 1st, 2018 from midnight to 11:59 PM. Organizations that are verified 501(c)(3) charitable nonprofits and that are headquartered or provide services in Tompkins County or surrounding areas are eligible to participate. Donations are accepted through givingisgorges.org.
This year, GiveGab is offering over $5,000 in prizes that will go directly to participating local nonprofits to help incentivize their donors to join the fun and give back on June 1.
